The Role
Very much. Wouldn't have learned more if I were doing something elsewhere. Reason being most people will spare their 5-10 minutes time even if they are busy for an intern.
Colleagues respect interns and see them as full-time hires. Very much valued by most team members and given huge responsibility.
Manager was supportive but want interns to explore the route at the same time. Might be lost sometimes but generally have team buddies, HR buddies, and mentors to guide interns at the same time.
Modestly busy, there are a vast amount of resources available to Barclays employees so in my free time, I spend time reading materials that will aid in daily work.
The Company
A lot. HR will organise learning sessions for interns to learn within the division, and also every colleagues are willing to spend time sitting down and answer any questions an intern might have. That's a lot of money/time spent on an intern and by colleagues they range from MD that are making plenty of money to any analyst that is still very knowledgeable.
