The Role
I thoroughly enjoyed my internship, everyone has been helpful and welcoming. I have enjoyed the work I have been doing and have found it very interesting. I have found myself light on work many times and it would be helpful if more work could have been passed along, however, I understand that it is not a busy period at the office.
Everyone in the office was helpful, friendly and available if I needed any help. When I was passed work they made the time to go through the work and let me know of any changes or mistakes I had made. Also, my colleagues made me feel valued by thanking me for my work and giving me feedback when I asked for it.
My manager and colleagues have all been supportive and there for me if I needed anything from them. Everyone was happy to answer any questions and talk through any queries that I had.
Most days I was at a good balance with work, however, there were quite a few times where I was light on work and had no work lined up to do. I would send out emails asking for work though and usually this ended up in someone passing me some work to do.
I was given many different types or work and role during my internship, in which some of them came with some responsibility.
I have built up skills that will help me in my future career and I have improved my knowledge on how the business works and the kind of work I will looking at doing in the future.
The Company
Everyone in the office was friendly and happy to get me involved. All my collagues were talkative and I felt comfortable in the team.
The internship was well organised from the start when we attended the training uptil the end when we had the presentation day. For any events the hotels and travel were all sorted and we recieved emails with all the information we needed. We also had the weekly lunch and learn, in which we could find out more about the business and different roles,
My colleagues let me work on many different clients and jobs to improve my technical skills and there were many training modules I completed which were given to me from Aon which helped me with my development.
Company Parties/Events
I would love to be able to work with Aon as a grad as I have enjoyed the internship and the work I've been doing. The internship has confirmed my idea to work within a company like Aon in this role.
The Culture
All the other interns were friendly and when we got together on events such as the training and the presentation day, most people were very social so it was nice to get to know them all. I found that in my office some of the interns would not attend some events so it was a shame that I could not socialise with them as much out of the office but we all got on very well day to day.
No cost for living as I lived at home and the area is pretty cheap for food and drinks.
The nightlife where I worked is good and there are many nice bars and restaurants that I went to with my colleagues after work and at lunch
There were many events, lunches and socials during my internship so it gave me the opportunity to speak to different people in the office who I would not work with day to day.
