The Role
The summer internship was a challenging and engaging experience which enabled me to interact with different stakeholders across the business. My team were very supportive and gave me useful guidance to ensure I got the most out of my internship.
I was treated like a part of the team from day one and I definetely was valued and respected for my work.
I was consistently given support from my line manager who challenged and pushed me to ensure I was continuously developing my skills.
I was set objectives by my line manager which ensured I was consistently working on projects and engaging with people across the business.
I had to complete major objectives which meant my team were relying on me for a lot of projects.
I'll definetely go back into my final year of university with a new perspective and I have acquired skills which I will definetely be able to use throughout the rest of my career.
The Company
I had a very lively team who were always friendly so the atmosphere was always relaxed but everyone was very hard working!
Very well organised.
I was challenged and this ensured I developed the correct skills needed to work at an established company like Barclays.
I would definetely like to come back to Barclays as I believe the banking industry is a very exciting place to be in, and the culture at Barclays is very appealing.
The Culture
There was a good group of interns for our cohort and various social events were held which was a good way to interact with others.
Being in London is more costly so it was definetely expensive for socialising.
There was a good social scene in Canary Wharf which is where I was based.
Yes, there were various opportunities to get involved.
