    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • It was an great experience to be with Citi, I got plenty of exposure and interesting tasks that were actually used for something. I enjoyed my placement to a great extent and feel it was worth spending the summer with the company. Happy to recommend the placement to anyone else interested in trying out banking.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I felt very valued by my fellow colleagues and they were very helpful. Everyone of whom I reached out to were always happy to help and provided me with plenty of time to ask elaborative question and go into debt with their answers. They were good at providing feedback and always ensured to provide a lot of positive things to say.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • The management was very helpful and so were my supervisors. Everyone of whom I reached out to were always happy to help and provided me with plenty of time to ask elaborative question and go into debt with their answers. Definitely a very helpful team, which ensured that my learning experience was top notch.

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I always had something at hand, even in the quite period of the summer I had a long-term project to work on. I would not use the work busy, but rather I would say that I always had something interesting to do, which made the days go by rather rapidly. Before you knew of it, 10 hours had passed with plenty work to do. Never bored, always challenged.

    5/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Quite a bit. I felt like I had a lot of work that was actually used for something. Rather than just working on fictional projects and small tasks, I was given very much responsibility with larger tasks and was given the opportunity to take on as much work on a given project as I was comfortable with.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Very much. Especially due to the feedback that I received from the team. Whenever I did work and there was anything that needed to be changed or corrected, rather than the team correcting it for me, they made notes and comments about it and showed and explained them to me, in order for me to do the changes myself and get the learning experience.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Very happen and very cool atmosphere. It was definitely a competitive and hard working environment, but there was plenty of time for laughs, fun and personal talks in the launch break. Very strong and great team spirit in the team and was a true pleasure to be part of the team.

I was given heaps of work and my individual projects ensured that I received great exposure not only to my own team but throughout the organization; I was given the opportunity to reach out to different teams and solve tasks in collaboration with them. a great experience overall, truly.

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • There was not so much social planned by the company, but the interns made a lot of arrangements between each other. The interns were great at interacting and be social. But I think this goes for any placement and was not particular for Citi. However, definitely a great social arrangement, truly.
