The Role
I have really enjoyed working at this internship. I especially enjoyed working at this internship in the first month because I worked really hard and well and there was a lot of work but ran out of work nearer to the last 2 months.
I felt very valued, they all recognised how hard I worked and let me know when I did good work.
My manager helped me make decisions and gave me guidance in how to start my project and who to ask for help etc. My supervisor was always there to help and always gave me good guidance when I was stuck.
I was very busy in the first month as throughout that time I was coding the application I was assigned. The last 2 months I was not so busy because I was just now and then fixing my program or writing up documentation.
I was given full responsibility for the working of the application I coded and getting it finished within the 3 months I worked at gsk.
The skills I have learnt were not really academically boosting but really helped me expand my speaking and presenting skills. Furthermore, gave me skills in speaking to people and the manner you should interact with people in a workplace.
The Company
The atmosphere in my office was good. Most people did not really interact with each other that much because they were working etc. But all the people in the office were very friendly and welcoming.
The internship was well organised and I was made sure to be looked after in the first couple weeks working at gsk. However, I think because I was expected to do my work over a longer amount of time when I finished it early there wasn't really a defined structure to what I was going to do next.
I was given courses to go through independently and training documents to read. But to develop me personally probably wasn't the best but wasn't really needed either.

Working from home
They are appealing, I would really consider wanting to be apply to be employed at GSK in the future after university. No offer yet though.
The Culture
At GSK they had a sports day where all the employees in the department I was working in socialised together in a well organised sports day. Essentially a team building day.
Cost of living was not too expensive and there was good places to socialise nearby like evening sports clubs and pubs etc.
The nightlife was not amazing, there were no real nightclubs, just pubs and quiz nights etc. A nightclub nearby would be better rather than having to get transport to London way.
Not really, not that I know of. I was not really invited to any social events outside of work through GSK.
