The Role
I enjoyed my placement very much and will definitely be applying for a graduate position at the company.
I felt like a member of the team and my work was valued just like everyone else's.
Everyone we're very helpful and willing to answer all my questions.
I was relatively busy depending on the project being completed. They were times I had to wait for tasks from my supervisor once I had finished previous tasks.
I was given responsibility like I was a graduate engineer. I had to become familiar with software all the other engineers used.
The experience has helped me to appreciate the topics taught on my degree programme and how I could apply this knowledge in practical situations.
The Company
The office environment was a great atmosphere. People were willing to share ideas with others. I particularly enjoyed the fruits given to staff on a Monday morning.
It was relatively good but there were times when my supervisors didn't have work for me to do. This was because of the projects being worked on during my placement so I don't believe my supervisors could help the situation.
I got to use the ARUP University page to complete training courses in my own time.
National Travel
I would like to return to the company once I've completed my degree programme.
The Culture
Friday afternoon drinks in the common area was a great way to meet colleagues.
Relatively cheap as I was working in the Yorkshire region.
I didn't go out much but I've heard it's a great city for night outs.
