The Role
It was nice being there for so long, you really became a part of both the company and the team. You never really felt like an intern i.e you were at the bottom of the food chain. It was more like you were equal to everyone else on the team.
My fellow producer colleagues were really good at feedbacking, though I feel like my manager could've given me a lot more feedback when I did something good. Socially everyone were nice and welcomed me as a definite part of the team.
I felt like the leadership in my team wasn't very clear. I wasn't instructed on what I was suppose to do at the start of my placement. I kinda had to figure everything out by myself. My colleagues were really helpful when it came to this, but I feel like my managers could've done a lot more to help me in the beginning and throughout the placement.
It varied. We had these intense weeks where you literally didn't have time to go to the bathroom, and then we could have months where I just ended up watching 100 hours of Netflix. It was both good and bad, I liked that you could have a period of relaxation between the intense periods but I felt like the chill periods were a bit too boring and the intense ones were a bit too stressful.
I was given as much responsibility as anyone else doing the same job but not being intern. The only difference being me being paid less and them having more monthly projects than me which I felt was fair. But as a producer I was bossing around editors and audio engineers like any of the seniors, which felt quite nice to say the least!
I feel like bc my position wasn't really suited for the course I'm studying it was partly a waste of time as I don't wanna go into childrens tv or commercial. However, it was a great experience to work at such a huge media company when you're studying film development. I learned more about the company structure and industry strategies than I would've learnt at any other place.
The Company
It varied, sometimes it was dull and sometimes it was really nice. It all depended on whether the manager was there or not. If the manager was there everyone sat quiet with themselves, but if not, it was party laugh and cheering all day long.
I felt like everything was very organised up until the point where I met my team, where there was a lot of chaos throughout.
The company was really good offering different classes and workshops to enhance my competence. Not only withing the company but to use after the placement as well.

I'd love to work with them again, just not within the area I did my placement, mostly because I'm more interested in film development rather than tv post production.
The Culture
They could've done more to integrate the interns more with eachother. Now it was only up tpo the interns themselves to do something socially, which eneded up being qquite dividing where some got loads of contacts throughout the company and some didn't get any bc they weren't welcome to the parties.
Living in the area wasnt a possibility as it was quite central. I also had to pay for a zone 1-3 travelcard for myself when a lot of travelling between two offices was included, which I felt was quite cheap for such a huge company. They had great lunch places and pubs in the area as well as a great canteen.
Don't know as I didn't live in the area. Mostly went out closer to where I live or in other places around London where events were held.
Yes they had tons of opportunities, I just chose not to take them..
