The Role
The firm wide culture was excellent with a lot of great opportunities for team building with activities such as dragon boat racing.
My team in IBD really liked my inputs and valued me as an effective colleague.
Supported but encouraged to be responsible for my own learning at the same time.
There were a lot of deals going on!
I was tasked with work which I was completely responsible for and learnt a lot of the ropes along the way.
The skills and training will definitely assist me as a more effective final year student before I join back for a graduate job.
The Company
It was hard work where required but with a lot of fun interspersed between the work again a dynamic throughout my team and the bank.
It was very well organised with a back-up plan just in case for a lot of contingencies be it speaker series events, leaving drinks or networking events. It seemed like there was always a plan A,B and C just in case.
They made sure I was the best I could be both during and after the internship as a result of a mix of division wide and team specific training.
Subsidised Canteen
Company Car
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Joining full time in July 2012.
The Culture
Made plans and had fun where we had the time (notorious hours in IBD though)
London is expensive and Canary Wharf more so in some ways, but that can be accommodated over time.
Better to move towards central for some of this.
Quite a lot of opportunities with volunteering, football etc, time permitting of course.
