    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • My internship was fun and flexible. My boss was great as he would let me see other sides of the business if I wanted to. I was able to meet a lot of other interns with whom I am friends now. It also fun in the sense you get to see the cars before their release to the public.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • The teams I got to see had a very strong bond where everyone was valued. I was always given great work and given good feedback on the work I delivered. I was asked on numerase for help from my team members to help them with some work which grew into my whole department asking me to help them out on different projects.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • My colleagues were very helpful. They showed me everything I needed to know and always had a minute for me to discuss any issues I was having on my project even when they were very busy. I had weekly check ups from my manager which would discuss with me how my internship is going and discuss about the future of my project and even university.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • On a daily basis I was quite busy. Which was great because I did not get bored. However, I was given too much work either to the point of me having to run around or having a burn out. I felt for me the amount of work I was give was the right balance.

    5/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • The work I was given was needed and in that respect was useful and of value to the company. I was also given more responsibility as my placement moved on. Nonetheless, the responsibility I was given was manageable and not too much but then also not too little. I was given enough responsibility in my view.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I was taught a lot of communications and management skills. Which will be very useful for me working on future group projects at university. I was also taught a few new programming languages which will definitely help me in programming next year and if I want to do some for my project. The skills I gained are very valuable.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Overall the work atmosphere isn't great. It starts with parking being scarce. Followed by the fact that your building is over capacity and therefore is using hotdesking. Meaning that everything is overcrowded. Everyone is therefore very close together and you don't have any space to yourself. Making the work atmosphere very intense and stressed.

    2/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The overall placement was well organised. We were given opportunities yo visit other parts of the business.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I knew that they were investing in me especially in the beginning. However as the placement went on I did not really see many opportunities to continue learning apart through my team.

    3/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Subsidised Canteen

    Financial Bonus

    Company Parties/Events

    Staff Sales/Staff Shop

    Working from home

    3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • The future employment prospects are OK. Yes, you would get a job and it would be a fun one especially the first year or two where you get to see a lot of sides to the company and get paid a decent amount. However, I am not sure I would want to live in that sort of area for a long period of time and have to commute everyday 30 min or more.

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Yes. Amazing. Awesome. However it all depends on you and if you want to anything apart from work.

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • As I was used to London prices. Everything around the area was pretty cheap. However, you could still spend up to £100 on an evening. It was very much up to you how much you spend.

    4/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • I was living in Coventry. The nightlife there was alright. However the other interns I was with made it to become a great night out every time. Going Kasbah on Friday, Phoenix on Thursday and so on. We would also have little party's in our flats with other interns. Nightlife was awesome with other interns.

    5/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Most people finish work at 4 o'clock or so. This gives you a huge amount of time to go out and do other activities. I for instance went to the gym every night after work. Other people would go running, climbing or even went to play golf. The opportunities are there it is just a matter of grabbing them.
