  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I thoroughly enjoyed my placement! The people at this organisation are extremely approachable and friendly.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I worked in the Diversity and Inclusion team which was the best team to work for in my opinion! My team was dynamic and supportive in every way I needed.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • My Team of five would give up their time to allow me to practice my presentation skills on them. My manager introduced me to very senior people during my time at FDM which was a really cool thing to do and made me feel special. I was always asked what I wanted to do and my ideas were always welcomed.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I had the perfect balance. The working environment is very agile based and work would appear out of no where but it was never overwhelming. Also the team work so closely together that every helped out when if needed.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • My role allowed me to take as much responsibility as I wanted. I was responsible for managing an initiative that had over 290 participants involved, I became an expert in it.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I am 100% more confident, I can approach people and know what to say to get the help I need. I am very organised and proactive now, so completing my assignment in a timely fashion will help me manage my time better.

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Large open plan sales floor, Very chatty and friendly staff. People communicate across desk and across room. Very vibrant and there is a great view of the River Thames.

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Very well organised, I had a very smooth transition into the role and into the team. And there are other placement students in the organisation working in different departments so it is a well established thing.

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • FDM allowed me receive there awarding winning training and I spent 2 weeks learning professional skills and excel VBA. I've was given a Mentor who was very well established within the business. We had regular Skype sessions which really helped me think about my career development. I also has regular one to one time with my manager at different points in my placement to check up on my progress.
