The Role
People were really nice and the work was interesting.
Extremely. I was praised for work I had done well in addition to being given constructive criticism.
I was given support when needed, however when I felt I was able to carry out tasks alone I was left to do so.
I can only remember an odd hour here or there in which I didn't have work to do and that was usually just waiting for someone giving me my next task to complete what they were working on.
A great amount of responsibility. I was trusted to produce work to a sufficient standard including client work. This work would be checked over briefly once completed to ensure it was up to standard but when it was up to standard it wasn't altered before being sent to clients. I was also sent to Ireland on secondment to a client's site in which I worked for a week. This showed me that the team were confident enough in my quality of work.
In terms of helping with my degree - not so much. In terms of assisting me after my degree, a hell of a lot! I was offered a graduate job as an actuarial analyst :) I gained many professional skills as well as actuarial skills which can be applied to my career as I progress through life.
The Company
Very friendly and supportive but also professional enough that quality of work and client satisfaction was paramount.
Very well. I worked with a variety of people and it was ensured that I worked on a variation of different projects.
Someone from each sector (pensions, life, non life) had a half hour meeting with the interns explaining the ins and outs of each sector of actuarial work. This was extremely useful in making the actuarial profession and what actuaries do clear to us. We were also offered to go to Bradenham Manor for a week for presentation skills training (however I chose to go to Ireland on secondment in this week).

Very appealing. Work life balance is extremely encouraged at GT. I was offered a job.
The Culture
Yes. An intern social in the first week was organised.
Very very expensive as it was central london. I was living at home so only had to pay for travel
Very good - very expensive.
Not really.
