The Role
I worked in transaction tax so the nature of the job was challenging, but the people added spice to life. There was always a promotion of balance. And I had a good mentor which really helped.
They took care of me and saw that I learnt something about the job, which I could be in for a long time if I accepted
We were given responsibility but other than that, it was a learning process by ourselves. I thought that was quite meaningful as it inferred a certain trust our supervisor had in us.
Pretty busy because of the number of deals I was on.
Quite a bit. I had to help draft a report which I had never done before. To be honest, I wasn't expecting that kind of responsibility.
It helped me choose my modules and to focus on modules that will matter in my job in the future.
The Company
There was quite a bit of drinking, but also the occassional chat which was really involving and somewhat distracting at times, which was good for the amount of work we had.
It was quite well planned although I was wishing for better events.
They made sure I had as wide a glimpse of what I was signing my 3 years up for.
Signed a contract!
The Culture
The interns were quite sociable, while our colleagues were very caring.
Expensive drinks in London.
There wasn't much and it was costly, but there was the occassional pint or two.
We had football outside but it was difficult to get involved with the short time there.
