The Role
I enjoyed my work placement overall. There were some very challenging elements but the majority was enjoyable.
The majority of my colleagues did appreciate the work I did.
The majority of all managers and supervisors I worked with were very supportive and happy to provide guidance.
The department was very under staffed so I was often too busy.
I feel I was given a reasonable level of responsibility considering my level.
The placement did provide me with numerous skills that will be particularly valuable throughout the rest of my career including working with people, growing in confidence and professionalism.
The Company
Although the majority of the time I was working in teams at client sites when I was in the office the atmosphere was fairly relaxed and every fortnight we had drinks hosted by a team.
The placement was fairly well organised. The majority of people in the firm have now heard of our degree and so understand we combine the time at work with our degree.
We were provided with a weeks training course and had a detailled induction.
Company Parties/Events
I have recieved a graduate job offer with the firm.
The Culture
There is a fairly good social scene but as we were the EY degree students we weren't really included with the industrial placement students.
Living in London the cost of living was high.
There were numeous bars around the main office but not really any clubs.
There are a number of 'networks' you can join that have been established by the firm and hodl socials and events.
