The Role
Really enjoyed the internship overall. Great people, great atmosphere and good work environment.
Colleagues were more than open to coffees and catch-ups, valued interns' time and treated interns with respect.
Everybody in the team ensured that the interns knew what they were supposed to do and gave step by step guidance if needed
The working hours were typical for the M&A industry. The amount of tasks per day varied , but the days were pretty busy on average, even though there were some down times available to review the previous material or read up on the news / additional information.
Once the team knows that you can handle a specific task, more responsibility would be provided. Most of the intern work either goes into project work or directly to clients.
I am a finance major, so the skills that I gained and processes that I assisted on are directly linked to my degree
The Company
Very lively even during the summer and the people seems to be open-minded and relatively easy to approach
The internship contained some fundraising activities, team building events and presentations from all the divisions. The HR made sure to help with any issue and was available for any guidance. Very well organised and balanced overall.
The firm provided a week of excel, ppt and specific software training in the beginning of the internship. It also organised presentations of all the sector/product teams to give a brief overview to the intern class as a whole.

The company seems to be a great employer for a long term career.
The Culture
The interns all seemed to fit the culture of the bank, were particularly friendly and open.
Depends on the distance from the office and the area itself, but London is expensive in general.
There are plenty of things to attend and do in London for a wide price range. Sure to never be bored.
There was not much time to involve in separate activities during the summer internships. However, try to maximise and use the time efficiently during some of the free weekends.
