The Role
Everyone working in the branches and head office are really friendly and supportive should you need anything. You learn a lot in a short space of time which is really good.
All my colleagues encouraged me to try new things and help me out with certain tasks and training. I never felt excluded even when the branch was under pressure and I needed help at the beginning.
Sometimes other employees would ask how your training folder is developing but often it was independent work. Having said that, they were always there to help if you asked.
As my 3 month internship was over the summer holiday period, I experienced both very quiet days and some hectic weeks. With a brand new staff team in the branch it was even more challenging but also exciting as I started as the branch started to grow quite rapidly.
I was given responsibility on quite a few tasks and also was able to help out and watch other employees complete there responsible tasks that may be more behind the scenes.
I feel like I am so much more confident in a lot of skills that I thought I had already. Such as customer service, communication, organization and many more. The internship really helped make that jump from being a university student who had done a few retail shifts here and there to working full time and helping to run and grow a business. Actually applying things I've learnt through out my degree and realizing how the working world works. While having a fun along the way
The Company
Everyone in the office is really professional but also knows how to have banter and fun with each other.
There were a lot of training days in Nottingham where they provided us with hotel rooms breakfast and lunch and sometimes dinner. It was really sociable. It was organized in advance and the training scheme had folders that you were able to follow and direct you in what you should be learning over the course of the internship.
Training and development was really good. Everyone encourages you to ask questions or raise any concerns you may have. If there's an issue (although I didn't have any my self) they are always happy to help. There's a lot of people you can speak too about anything at any time. They treat you as if you are building a career with them and encourage you to continue with them.

If you are after a fast past, and every changing working environment and enjoy communicating with a lot of people then its a job for you. If you're not it wont be somewhere for you. If your unsure definitely try it out as its still a good experience all in all. You'll build on so many skills, meet a lot of people and make some big connections.
The Culture
You make friends with everyone on your training course as well as those you speak to often on the phone from in branch even though you may never have met them! They encourage everyone to be social, including having your own twitter account!
For me personally my branch was local to my area so was a 15 minute walk or a 2 minute drive if it was raining! So for me the commute wasn't far at all.
My branch was in a town centre so there wasn't any night life. But other local branches i'm aware did. As a compromise we had many paid for lunches- free food is always a bonus.
At My branch there wasn't particularly. However at the company as a whole youre able to become a campus brand manager at your university which can be good for anyone wanting to work part time during uni and stay in touch with enterprise. They also support pride events. Even if your branch may not participate you can always go to the events anyways.
