The Role
I feel that i made a great decision in taking the position I was offered at The Body Shop. I had such an amazing experience, and have learnt so much. It's been incredibly eye opening, and has definitely prepared me better for my future job aspirations.
I got the chance to work with some wonderful people, who I will no doubt keep in touch with across my future career.
The guidance was great, but not overwhelming. I was pointed in the right direction, and given the freedom to work to my own style.
I was kept super busy, which was great! The days were really rewarding, and flew by!
At each stage from start to end of the internship, I was given an appropriate amount of responsibility. Management took an active interested in how I was progressing, and gave me more responsible tasks accordingly.
When started the internship, I had a very 2D view on my university studies. Only when put to practice, did I really understand theories and concept in a deeper and more meaningful context.
The Company
My office environment was a pleasure to work in, and an absolute testament to the business ethos.
The structure of the placement was really clear and well laid out. This was great for me to make the most of the role at each stage.
I received lots of one to one sessions, training courses and development tasks.
Flexi Time
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Working from home
I would love to go back and work for the business. There are also lots of opportunities for progression.
The Culture
I lived with other placement students, and went out with work colleges.
Cost of living was more costly down south, than at my norther based home/uni.
The nightlife was good, if I was willing to travel.
A couple of work fitness classes a week.
