The Role
I thoroughly enjoyed the placement; the working environment is fantastic.
Plenty of support was given, especially from my individual counsellor who I could discuss any issues or development points with.
As an intern there are only so many skills that you can develop; the real development will start when I start as a graduate.
The Company
Atmosphere in the office was good, however I was based at different client sites most of the time as I was working in Audit.
There was a really good stucture to the internship. The induction at the beginning for about 60 interns across the country was a fantastic opportunity to meet other people, and it was a lot of fun too! I had 4/5 counsellor meetings over the 6weeks so I was getting a lot of support and was getting what I wanted out of my internship. I was always booked to a client which allowed me to work with different teams which was good. Finally, the summer intern ball at the end where everyone came together for one last time was fantastic; a brilliant send-off.
The main training was to do with our laptops, learning how the internal system works so we can carry out tasks. There was plenty of addition webls we could take part in if we had the extra time and wanted to develop further.
National Travel
Company Parties/Events
I was offered a place that I have accepted.
The Culture
All of the interns gelled together straight away. We organised sports events, meals and even night's out which were all a great chance to share experiences and get to know each other better.
Working in Birmingham, the 2nd city, the nightlife was fantastic- there is always something to do if you want to.
I attended work drinks a few time, which was great to speak to employees at all levels, from Partners to Associates. I also went to 'Go Ape' which is a high ropes course and Ernst & Young have various sports teams to get involved with.
