The Role
The internship at Bloomberg is probably the best you can get. There are a lot of events during which you can network with other interns and meet people from the industry. The projects there are challenging and help you discover the fields that interest you.
I made a lot of friends and everyone I sought advice from was particularly kind and helpful.
Whenever I had problems, my mentor/team members were there to help.
I was very busy, but I would say it depends on how much you want to push yourself and how much you want to achieve during your internship. You could easily go for 9-5 and successfully complete your project!
My project was a PoC, so I did not get to see my project go in production. Even so, there are things that can go wrong, so overall, you need to be careful about what you do.
I managed to discover the topics that interest me and I feel my internship prepared me for my final year at university.
The Company
I cannot say a bad word about the organization. Bloomberg really made sure we feel at home and it felt they did their best to win us over.
There is a week of training at the beginning of the internship which helps you get up and running quite quickly.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Company Parties/Events
I would love to come back for a full-time position.
The Culture
There are numerous events during which you get to know the other interns and make friends with other engineers.
It is not a lie that London is quite an expensive city to live in. Even so, interns get a relocation amount which mostly cover the living costs.
There are a lot of sports events, nights out, volunteering opportunities, and many more.
