The Role
It was a good internship overall where I learnt a lot and was surrounded by a good team of people which supported me. However I was not always given enough work or I found myself doing very similar tasks and as a result i didn't feel like I was able to apply myself as much as I wanted to.
With the tasks I was set, I completed them well and I understood the importance of the tasks that I completed. I felt valued by my colleagues.
I was guided through all of my tasks and throughout the whole internship.
Were bored at times, I asked for work at any point I didn't have any however sometimes they weren't around or were not able to give me work.
I was given the task to manage an account package worth upwards of £200,000, reconciling the information within the account to ensure it was correct.
I asked my supervisor if I could sit with other departments to get a taste of other parts of the industry, not just qs. After this it was useful and i developed a greater knowledge of the industry which i can take into my second year of uni and beyond.
The Company
All of the people were nice and supporting, there was a good working atmosphere yet they were all capable of having a laugh.
They knew that I was coming and set me up well enough to have things to do, but i don't think they were prepared for me to need more work all the time as they were unable to give it to me.
I had 3 reviews during my internship in which we talked about how i had been developing over my stay and identifying what I've learnt and what i have been doing for the company.
National Travel
Company Parties/Events
I am already set to go back there for placement however am unsure what will be occurring after my degree.
The Culture
I wasn't around anyone else on placement.
I didn't go out often during my internship, but London prices are always extortionate
It looked good but never went anywhere.
There was one trip to Isle of Wight for a boat trip however i joined too late to be able to go.
