The Role
Perfect for students studying CS related subjects. Employees around me are always seeking for improvements in codes. The offices are well lit, fairly spacious, free coffee and drinks available. Good food in the canteen, and there is a good variety of desserts from day to day. Good IT support from hardware requests to login issues.
Colleagues will discuss problems with me, even if it seems very obvious to them. They will be humbled to learn stuff from me as well. They share their thoughts. If I made a mistake, they would came to me in person and explain what I did wrong and what I needed to improve/fix any problems.
Setting next to my manager. If I ever had a problem, I just call him. He was always energetic and helpful.
Work load can go high, but with moderate amount of arrangements, they go away fairly fast. The key factor to successful workload management is to keep everything organised from the very beginning. Keeping a note book on the tasks I needed to do helps. Saving webpage bookmarks for future use is a good option.
I was developing an documentation infrastructure for the whole team, and I gave a presentation on it to everyone for review later on.
I had plenty of coding experience in Arm. I built networking and presentation skills. These are skills for life.
The Company
Everyone is friendly and ready to offer help whenever I asked questions. Although there were cases some of them were busy, but they would kindly redirect me to someone else. Nobody pretends to know everything. The humble attitude lives in everyone. I once knew a technique that manager did not know. He listened carefully and with respect.
At the beginning, there was a lack of induction to some basic infrastructure, but there were plenty of talks and trainings on coding and technical stuff. In the middle of my internship, that was when the most fun took place. The organizer lead did a good job at organizing intern events. I has several memorable nights in the city town.
Good amount of trainings were provided by the company. Varying from general topic like machine learning, to more technical ones like SystemVerilog induction. The talks and training are almost always open to interns, no matter where they took place. But as time moved to the end of my internship, talks and trainings gradually died out. Partly because some interns left and a lot of employees were on holiday.

Working from home
Every intern got to have an end-of-internship conversation with his/her manager, where different options and career plans were discussed. My manager and the people around me did show a decent appreciation on my work, and they were happy to see me back. It was because the intern manager was unsure about the number of interns they were going to hire.
The Culture
The people share group did encourage interns to socialize with each other. They organized various events for interns and sometimes for everyone within the company. For example, I met a few good friends in Arm in the summer BBQ. We played human table football against a bunch of kids, we almost lost the game! The employees sat on a long bench during the Oktoberfest, there, we talked about our university life.
Cambridge is Cambridge. I got beautiful countryside views and historical colleges. The living cost was okay compared to London. Furthermore, the cost depends on where the person lives. The Cherry Hinton area where is 5 minutes walk from Arm, is a bit expensive, considering how far it is from the city centre. But one can get decent price for areas further away from the city centre. There are a few pubs and nightclubs in the city centre.
Good amount of pubs and nightclubs in the city centre. To me, the most attracting place was the University colleges. I once watched a play in the garden in Trinity College. It was like nothing I experienced before. The environment immersed well with the play, with the darkness, I surely felt like in the play!
There were some volunteering opportunities in Arm organized by Team Arm. They were usually held during weekends, because everyone would like to enjoy nights with his/her family during week days. I did not take part in those volunteering opportunities. Other than this, I went to a few company wide events. In general, there was not a lack of activities nor overwhelming amount of them.
