The Role
Thoroughly enjoyed all of my time at Mace and worked alongside fantastic people - easy to get along with and were understanding
During the beginning it was difficult to be classed as a valued individual due to the simple fact my knowledge was lacking and it was the first time I had worked in this construction industry. Coming to the end of the year I did feel valued by members of the team
There were many individuals that were willing to guide me during my placement, especiallly younger individuals and former placement/graduate students
As previous, it was difficult at the begining however as I gained experience and trust in the work I was given, my days became busier.
I was given several important responsibilities and as a result urged me to become more organised. My manager was aware of the quantity of work assigned and was willing to test my ability with additional significant work. As before this further increased during the year
Being in the construction industry for 12 months, I hope will aid me in both the technical knowledge of construction and also the work ethic I developed
The Company
It was exciting, always busy with a number of people coming in and out of the office. Working collaberarively allowed a fun and fast paced environment.
Several meetings and group activities were set up during the year and you were able to contact the placement team at any time with any queries. There were not as many group sessions as I thought there would be however, I assume this was due to many of the placement students being positioned all over London.
There were many optional informal seminars the company ran and many training courses too. The quantity of training courses attended was down to the individual
Sports and Social Club

International Travel
Company Parties/Events
Mace give the opportunity to join their two year graduate programme
The Culture
Yes there was however, sometimes it was difficult arranging social events as many placement students were dotted around London as a result difficult to get together
Expensive! But if you go on a placement in London you expect it
As above, it was expensive! However, there were many different social events and something for everyone
Yes, as above there is something for everyone
