The Role
I thought the whole experience was brilliant - from the interview right through to my final day of the internship
I felt like everyone in the firm was really friendly and accepting of the new interns. Literally everyone I spoke to offered for me to go to them if I had any problems. I felt like everyone was looking out for me and there was always someone who would help if I had an issue.
The buddy system was really good and there was even the chance to go out for a meal with your buddy half-way through the internship.
Every day I was given multiple tasks and if I ever finished these tasks, there was always some small task that someone else in my team would delegate to me.
I was given the right amount of responsibility. I was given enough to feel like I was adding value to the process, but not too much that I felt under pressure or that I was in 'too deep'.
As I am doing audit at University as one of my modules, the work that I did with my time at EY has really helped me understand the theory I am learning, as I have done everything in practice now. I feel like I hold this advantage over people that did not do an internship.
The Company
It was very well organised and the induction/training was ideally organised to meet lots of people. The firm put on a ball at the end of the internship which was also the perfect way to finish the whole experience
Other members of staff would take time out to train you at the beginning of tasks/help you whenever you needed it. You felt like you were a valued member of the team. One man I worked with took so much extra time helping me with an area of difficulty that he had to work into the night to get his work complete. He did not mind at all and was more than willing to help me the next day too.

The Culture
I got along really well with many of my fellow interns and other members of the staff that I worked with. I spent my lunch break with a mixture of employees/interns.
