The Role
It's been great, 10/10 from project selection to team interaction and technical gains!
We had daily team meetings where we discussed what everyone's been working on and we gave feedback and suggestions to each other.
Whenever I got stuck, my mentor or someone else in the team was there to help me.
Perfect balance indeed, I was really as busy as I wanted to be, but given the daily meetings where we had to present our progress, I always set daily goals and worked enough to finish them.
They are aware that we are interns, so they always make sure to give us only as much as we can handle, and based on how we do, they adjust future tasks (making them more/less challenging).
Given that I have to work on a large project as I enter my final year at college, this experience will definitely prove to be very valuable.
The Company
Generally relaxed, while very productive. Perfect balance in that sense.
Very, at least in my team. Moreover, we discussed weekly on how we can improve our performance as a team, given that more and more users were going to start using our application.
We have a week and a half of training, plus a personal mentor in the team to help us accommodate with the architecture, the codebase, the workflow and everything else we might need to understand at the beginning in order to start working on our project.

Company Parties/Events
As far as I know, if the internship/placement went well enough and the project got to a decent stage by the end of it, future employment is quite probable.
The Culture
Yes, the company makes sure to have plenty of social events and encourage interactions between colleagues.
As expected for central London.
Yes, again, the company makes sure to provide that as well.
