The Role
Summer placement was enjoyable as I was able to get further practical experience in my field of work, whilst being able to share ideas within the LOR team
In the office the team environment meant that I felt very integrated straight away and was given regular tasks to be responsible for
I would [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyPlacement Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] given tasks to complete and support would always be there if I needed it, all of the team is very supportive and no question was too obvious
Once I was settled in, I was usually busy everyday with a few days being more quiet due to the nature of construction sites and a lot of the office having to be in meetings for long periods
I was given a lot of responsibility and trusted to make calls and email sub contractors, I was also given responsibility over tasks
Without the practical summer experiences you would not be able to fully gauge, what life as a quantity surveyor on a construction site would be, making the placements very valuable
The Company
The office had a lively atmosphere with a nice social/ working environment
The placement was well organised, being given a side task of having to work in a team of placement students on the effects of digital engineering
I feel that LOR really incest in their placement students, value their input and progression for the future of all employees within the company
Financial Bonus
Company Parties/Events
I would be very happy to be employed by LOR in the future
The Culture
I got on well woth many of the placement students and was lucky to have a young office so found it easy to converse not feeling too young
I lived very close to my placement and so was able to easily commute
N/A
Yes I played for a rugby team which train 2x a week and played on a Saturday and regularly attended the gym
