The Role
It was a pleasurable experience. It was challenging, but never too hard and my mentor was always there to help me. The culture of the company is great.
My manager was happy when I finished solving a problem or writing a script and was always encouraging me when I was feeling down and insecure.
Every time I needed help my manager was there and would come and help we within several minutes. We would have a longer discussion if he decide that it is worth the time and also would give me a lot of material to read if the topic is deeper than initially thought.
I was busy with my tasks while at work, but I did not have to stay past m working hours. I sometimes did that, but entirely because I wanted to. There is always more work if you are keen and also you could not do as much, but that is of course up to the person.
Given that I was completely new to the coding world before I started I think the level of responsibility was quite good. I was doing some code changes by myself to the main system, but this would be reviewed by my manager before put in use.
I am going to have a project in university this year, which is going to be mainly focused on coding, so I hope it would help me a lot.
The Company
It was quite chilled and people are always friendly with one another.
There were special meetings and sessions for the interns, which I guess is not so common thing overall. Also every intern has a mentor and a manager. Sometimes this might be the same person, but that does not make it any less great.
I believe considering that I was an intern there they invested quite a lot. There were sessions organised for the interns and their development, which were always useful and good fun.

Company Parties/Events
The company is a great place for everybody who wants to do software. My only issue is that it is far away from the centre. Nothing else I could possibly think of.
The Culture
We were going on social events together quite often. Also the company is quite good at giving us some money for drinks and events, which was well appreciated.
There are subsidised company houses, which are around half the price of another possible place to live and are really close to the office. The cost of socialising is normal for London area, but the company often subsidised some drinks and events, which made it very cheap for the interns.
I did not really go to any clubs. Not my thing.
There are sport clubs for very many different activities and also board games club, computer games club and so on. It was never boring.
