The Role
The internship was extremely enjoyable. I have a lot still to learn, but they did try to get you involved with as much as possible.
I felt that the people I was working with tried to get me onvolved and did appreciate the work I was trying to do to help them out.
I worked alongside the senior Manager in my department. He was extremely helpful and guided me through every new task. I also had a buddy and an intern councillor/manager. They were also extremely helpful and offered help and support whenever it was needed.
There were some points at which there was little to do, mainly due to being an intern and not having the right level of knowledge/ability to carry out certain tasks (like final write ups of agreements etc). However for the majority of the time I was there I was kept busy.
I feel that for being an intern i was given an adequate amount of responbibility.
The skills that I have learned would be easily transferable n to the work place in most industries. Obviously I also learned industry specific skills as well though.
The Company
The atmosphere in the office was generally a good one. When work had to get done, it was done, but there was still a nice atmosphere/
I think overall the internship is set up and run very well. With no experince of any other internships, i cannot compare and contrast with others, but to me it was run well.
I feel they helped to give the me required training for the purposes of my internship.
Flexi Time
Company Parties/Events
I have been offered a graduate job depending on my final degree result ... so fingers crossed :)I feel the company would be good to work for, as i really enjoyed the internship and still have so much more to learn
The Culture
There were a few nights out in the time I was there, and I have also been invited to the Christmas lunch.
I travelled in to work every day, so there was no real cost of living for me other than the cost of my transport every week. Socialising can be realtively inexpensive though as there are a vast number of small cafes/restaurants and pubs in the area.
I travelled in to work every day, so there was not much to worry about in the way of Nightlife near work. However, as the company is in the central of Glasgow, there will be plenty of options to have a great night out.
There were a few different events a nights out that were arranged that we were able to take part in - I went a trip on the Waverly, had a pub night and a quiz night.
