The Role
I really enjoyed working at Expedia, it was a fantastic experience. Expedia is a hugely enjoyable place to work.
My colleagues valued my opinions and input as if I were a full time/permanent employee, they allowed me the freedom to work without micromanagement and the result was a great experience and a huge amount of learning.
My manager gave my complete support in achieving my goals, and help me reach the targets I had for my internship.
I was busy with interesting work most days, but it wasn't so much that I felt under pressure. Sometimes it could be a bit slow.
I was given two projects to work on, and I was also able to contribute to my team's project.
The skills I developed at Expedia allowed my work at the following year of university to be much more polished an professional.
The Company
The atmosphere of the office was very friendly and open. I could always go and ask anyone for help.
The internship was fantastically organized. There were tons of events.
Event's, workshops, training, books. Basically whatever you needed.
Company Parties/Events
Above 25 days holiday
Working from home
The future employment prospects are very appealing. In fact I have accepted a graduate job there.
The Culture
The social scene was great. I made a very close group of friends. We had our own events and met up after work every day.
The cost of living is high, but the pay was good too,
Some of the best nightclubs and bars in the world are just a short walk from the office. The nightlife is amazing.
Yes there were opportunities to volunteer and help out the local community/charities.
