The Role
My time at EDF has been very interesting so far and has opened up my eyes to the real engineering workplace which is invaulable experience either for my continued career here or for my Honours project.
since day one i have felt like a part of the team, being included in all apsects of daily work and even having tasks of my own to complete
i have a mentor and sionce beginning i have also worked with 4/5 individual engineers for thier own KDM's
very busy, too busy to spend too long on this rating to be fair, ha ha
i have had oversight for my work but as far as the team are concerned they expect me to deliver on my tasks the same as anyone else.
i am hoping to continue my career here at edf for the forseeable!
The Company
professional, quiet at times but nothing less than you'd expect from a team of engineers, also a friendly atmosphere.
no issues so far. very organised.
i have been on a work induction event for 2 days which the company paid all my expenses, they are providing me with a good wage and they have trained me on all of the systems, inductions and softwares available, whatever i need to complete my tasks.
Flexi Time
National Travel
Company Parties/Events
Above 25 days holiday
i beleive i may need to leave to complete my honours year but i i've been told that once i qualify i can apply for the graduate scheme and this will be a much shorter process for me.
The Culture
very mature workforce but there was opportunity to socialise if wanted. as a mature student myself i have a family and responsibilites so not really looking for a social scene.
nearby glasgow has anything you could ever look for at standard and reasonable prices.
glasgows nightlife is at the pinnacle of socialising if something you require. famous for it in fact.
socialising, volunteering, fundraising, stem ambassadorial duties.
