The Role
I thoroughly enjoyed my Internship at the Royal Bank of Canada in Sales and Trading, there were lots of events organised to network and meet the other interns and employees. The overall experience was eye opening and worthwhile
Colleagues valued any input we had on the floor and appreciated anything we did for them or any new ideas we interns had.
Support and guidance was given throughout and was easy to chat to management and supervisors about personal performance and any concerns we had.
Days consisted of work shadowing as well as getting on with individual and group projects. Some times was hard to organize shadowing as people were busy. However I was never short of task to do, but I was not overwhelmed by the work set.
Due to regulations we were given much responsibility on the floor, however our work was valued by the desk and we were given tasks that did help with the daily running of the desk.
Skills such as organisation and relationship building were developed a lot and the things I learnt whilst on the desk will help me greatly in my future career.
The Company
Everyone was incredibly nice and I never felt as if I was not wanted on the floor. Although the work is serious the atmosphere is incredibly friendly.
Projects and events held, as well as rotations throughout the internship were organised very efficiently.
The firm were very invested in me getting the most out of the internship and helped me in anyway that they could in ensuring that i got lots of exposure to multiple parts of the business.
Subsidised Canteen
Company Parties/Events
I was offered a graduate place with them, which I accepted.
The Culture
We all got along well and went out a couple of times with each other.
It's London so expensive.
Lots of bars and pubs around.
Working sociable hours so yes.
