The Role
Good fun getting involved, and a great atmosphere in the office.
Always being asked if I wanted to come to client meetings.
Task-by-task feedback was offered and helpful guidance given with hindsight from the tasks.
Always kept busy, but there were one or two afternoons when I wouldn't do much, but was a relief.
Giving presentations, attending client meetings and being asked for personal recommendations for clients meant I felt very responsible and involved.
As aforementioned presentation skills and communication in a team were the main skills. Amongst organisation and guidance in every task meant that this was an invaluable experience.
The Company
Good atmosphere, and the regular Friday afternoon pub lunch. During lunch break only, obviously.
EY have run a fantastic internship, and you can tell they have been doing it for years.
Lots of time was taken out by the staff to aid my development.
I went into it more skeptical then most probably, but I had no doubts after half way through that this was a great company to work for,
The Culture
Lots of networking is available during the internship, all over the country.
I lived at home which helped, Cambridge is an expensive night out but if you can live in one of the colleges then it's a lot cheaper than most other accomodation.
Cambridge had what I wanted, no massive clubs, but still VodkaRevs was used regularly.
Always things going on, sports teams and charity events.
