The Role
Couldn't have asked for anything more.
Everyone wanted to learn about the firm and was willing to work together in the activities set, making for an atmosphere where everyones strengths were used to there fullest.
The supervisors were all experts in their own fields having been selected specially to offer guidance to us.
Apart from sleeping, there was never a moment where you where doing nothing. Activities, lectures, meetings were set up throughout the day.
Throughout the few days it was us who were running the activities and excersises - the supervisors were there if we went wrong!
The whole idea of the academy was to learn more about the natural strengths each of us showed. It also gave ideas about areas where we could improve in the future in all areas of life.
The Company
There was a real spirit amongst all the participants as we all were at the academy for the right reasons - to learn more about ourselves and more about Ernst and Young.
Food, alcohol, single room, pool, gym were all complementary! There was a clear structure in the learning right the way through also, which made it easy to prepare for the endless activities which were set up.
There was no commitment to pursue a career with E&Y after the academy, instead it was to develop us and discover more about the strengths each of us had. The venue, supervisors, goody bag! provided showed the extent E&Y invest in attracting the best students to the firm.

Company Parties/Events
Having completed the academy, I was fast-tracked straight to an assessment centre where I secured an internship for the summer.
The Culture
BBQ's and social drinks were set up every night where we could socialise with the other students and with the supervisors.
It was free!
Open bar every night meant the evenings got pretty interesting - embarassing karaoke nights were the highlight.
Every night!
