The Role
Having an internship in EY and attended the Leaderhip Academy, both places were amazing and gave me a real insight to the job!!
For my internship, I found my team very friendly and helpful! They constantly checked up on me to see how I was doing and gave me a real experience on the job! For the Leadership Academy, it literally was like family, working with like minded applicants and surronded by friendly staff
On both occassion, I was supported every step along the way, from on the job training to admin work after I left!!
For the internship, I was busy throughout the day!! However, the work was so diverse and interesting the time just flew by!! and in terms of the leadership academy, it was jammed packed with activities and fun!!
I was given a huge responsibility during my internship, taking charge of a basic function of the Audit!!! I was supported along the way and was commended for the report!!
The internship gave me a real insight in the EY and my potential career. The leadership Academy excelled all expectations, giving real leadership and other practical skills for life
The Company
It was hard work but I was in a very friendly team. Even though there was alot of do, by having such a supportive team made it easier and fun!
From the application, the whole process was smooth. I was updated every step along the way and had my queries awnsered quickly
I was given 3 full days of training for my internship, covering all the basic skills I needed for the internship. However, I found that I learnt much more though on the job, especially when my mentor coached me throughout all the key processes
There are an amazing range of potential spaces with a good training struture. However, with all big firms, demand is high and spaces are limited!!
The Culture
EY encouraged students to mingle, providing various activities after work. It was great to share experiences with other members, and realise that even though you have the same role, the type of work everyone is doing is so different¬¬
I did take my internship in HK and therefore the costs were high! However, the leadership academy was a unique event, with everything paid for!!
The events and meals with my team was amazing. Everyone was friendly and I just had a great time! With the leadership academy, they provided amazing events every night !!!
There werent as many opporunities outside of work, such as volunteering activitees, mainly due to the time of my internship. However, if going out for meals or drinks with team members count, then there were countless opportunities.
