The Role
It was an amazing experience, which really helped me learn a lot. The internship was full of events, some of which contained parties, some would be networking events. We had hackathons and coding contests. There was tons of events and talks which were technology related as well, which helped me improve my skills.
I feel like I've had a great impact on the area I worked on, writing a tool used by a lot of people. They've always helped me whenever I needed it, and have collaborated with me. They were fun, responsive, and would always treat me like I was part of the team and not just one intern who is going to leave in a few weeks.
My mentor was of a huge help. He'd always be there for me, and would try to help me understand a problem by not giving me a straight-away answer, but by helping me with where to look and how to find it myself. The leader was always responsive and reachable in case something wasn't going my way, or I thought that the thing I'm doing should be done a different way.
Not very. I've always had time to work on my project, but I could always spend some time in the pantry, having a snack or a coffee. I've had sessions of hours of research and coding when needed, and moments when I could just spend some time chatting with my friends.
I feel like a lot. Even though I initially considered myself one level lower than my full-time colleagues, they didn't treat me that way. They always treated me and considered me as part of the team, and let me weigh my own work and pick it.
Largely. There has been a lot of stuff I had to learn here which I feel will help me in the future, mostly technical skills. I used new technologies, some of which I may even use in the future at my university or in my own free time.
The Company
It is mostly a finance company, so it was pretty business casual. However, in the area that I've been working (engineering), everybody felt relaxed, coded along with a cup of coffee and some snacks. People would go to have a snack together, chat. There were events with pizza and drinks in the office sometimes, or cleanup parties.
My team did a great job on this. They have prepared a researched project for me, which had a deadline for the team release. I had to research and understand the technology I've been using during the timeframe, and work on it. They've always supported me and had a good understand of the project. My second project was even better: they came with a list of projects that I could choose from! This way I could do the thing I loved and work on whatever I preferred.
The training events and development events didn't stop. There were events to teach us finance, technologies, soft skills, networking. If you wanted a meeting on something, look no further. There was one on everything. This is one of the things I loved at this company, they care about their employees.

Working from home
I feel like I might find a job here, as I've felt very welcome and warm by the rest of the colleagues. They really value their people and this is one of the reasons why I'm feeling that way. I've had an amazing time so coming back is surely one of my top possibilities and choices.
The Culture
Yes. We had chats, groups, meetings, events. We would go around the city, visit it, among interns. We even went to a football match! They were mostly students with the same aspirations and ideas, and this is what made it easy to talk and have fun with them, and I loved this.
The cost of living and socialising was quite decent. It was particularily more expensive than where I came from, but with the economy here I feel like that it was decent. We'd always go around for a beer at least 2 or 3 times a week after work, and it didn't feel like hurting our pocket.
I haven't really experienced the nightlife in the area I worked, as I mostly went to clubs and stuff near my home. I would imagine it isn't very expensive though, considering that socialising and pubs were not very expensive either, compared to the rest of the city.
YES! There were darts clubs, bowling, pinball, beer pong, everything you could think of. And the best part of it? The company showed us most of them around work using their events. They basically picked most of the used activities and shown them to us. This way, we already knew our way around the neighbourhood.
