The Role
I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Travelport as a Management Reporting Intern. I enjoyed the charity project we had an opportunity to get involved with an run as a group on interns and also the appreciated the level of responsibility given to me from day one. I also felt highly valued and supported by my team and other colleagues.
My team and colleagues at Travelport were always very supportive and were always ready to help. My colleagues helped me with work related queries as well as University work. The level of responsibility and trust they held in me also made me feel highly valued. I always felt like another member of the team and not as an intern.
My manager was always ready to offer help and support and held frequent one to one meetings with me. They also offered valuable feedback frequently to ensure I was able to develop my skills. My mentor was also extremely supportive by helping me discover possible graduate career paths I could follow. My mentor was always prepared to help with University work and applications such as reviewing and offering feedback on my CV.
There were definitely busier times such as month end, quarter end and year end. Although these times were busy and sometimes challenging, it allowed me to develop and learn a number of new skills such as task prioritization. Although, I believe the work life balance at Travelport was good, and I rarely stayed late.
The level of responsibility given during my placement was high as I was always challenged to take up new tasks and roles. This allowed me to adapt and develop as my role changed and grew throughout the year.
There were a number of workshops and online courses available at Travelport to help develop a number of transferable skills.
The Company
The atmosphere was extremely friendly and welcoming as everyone was always prepared to over help when needed.
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Financial Bonus
They do not currently have a graduate scheme, although I would definitely consider returning if there was a vacancy.
The Culture
Windsor, Uxbridge and Slough are all relatively near to the office and there are plenty of nightlife to offer there.
There was a social club who frequently organised theatre trips, pub quizzes and more.
