The Role
I enjoyed my internship an incredible amount. I looked forward to getting into work and learning new things on a daily. I highly recommend this internship programme.
I felt valued and comfortable very quickly within the team. After just a couple of days it felt like I'd been there a much longer time and had known my colleagues a while.
I was given continuous support by my supervisors and guidance was offered to me whenever I felt I needed it.
I had been set an on going task to do alongside any of the work I was set for that day or week. So on a daily basis I always had something to do and if I'd completed my work, I'd watch over my colleagues to get an idea of other areas of the role.
I was given a range of responsibilities from making payments and authorising cheques to being trusted to do things such as the key log or answering the phone and door to customers.
I was lucky enough to be offered a full time job two months into my internship so all the skills I developed and training I was given contributed largely to what I am doing now. Even if you don't continue into a career the people skills that you learn are ones that will definitely assist you in whatever career you go into.
The Company
The atmosphere in my office is extremely sociable and friendly. There was never a dull day.
The overall internship was set up extremely well. There were training days which were very well organised and taught us a lot but also let us be social with one another. Throughout the course of the internship I had a training guide and glossary of terms to work by produced by head office which was extremely helpful.
The company invested a lot of time and effort into training me and this shows in the development that I have made over the last couple of months. Their aim is to push you to do aswell as you can but never push you to a point where you feel uncomfortable.
Very appealing, I have a job here now!
