The Role
I enjoyed the work, the office atmosphere and the out-of-work activities that I was encouraged to participate in
The work I was given clearly contributed towards the client's objectives, and the team made sure I understood the value of my contribution
The team were really supportive and very happy to answer any questions I had (as a non-cognate student, I had a lot)
I was very busy some days, but others I found myself asking for work - I felt that this may have ben due to a lack of communication outside of London, meaning that not enough additional work was planned for me before my arrival in case I ran out of things to do
I was put in charge of overseeing an ongoing project at Cushman, and given the responsibility to liaise with teams in Birmingham, London and Budapest.
I gained a valuable insight into real estate as an industry over my 8 weeks, as well as learning more specific things about leases, taxation and property management. I was given the opportunity to improve on communication, organisation and computer skills too
The Company
Good atmosphere, hard working but also very approachable people
Well organised, but lacking some structure towards the end of my internship
I was invited to a number of events, got exposure to multiple service lines within the business, and had the opportunity to meet and work with people at partner-level and higher
I've applied to the grad scheme, just waiting for the next application stage!
The Culture
I mixed with interns working in my service line around the country, and got to know the other interns in my office well
Birmingham is not cheap, but not too expensive
I played cricket for the company, and there were also charity events
