The Role
It has been a really good year so far. I have learnt so much by being in a real working environment, and I have been given a lot of opportunities to find out more about the business and the people we work with.
My colleagues give us a lot of responsibility and as as a result we know that the work we are doing is important. We have regular catch-ups with the team and they always let us know how valued we are.
My colleagues encourage us to ask questions and we have regular progress reviews where we discuss any areas that we're struggling with. They're very open to meeting up and understand that we won't get everything right first time.
I always have plenty to do, but if you're struggling to handle the work load you can let the team know and they will help you out.
I have been given a lot of responsibility. We get to make a lot of decisions and assist with a range of tasks, such as planning events, that require a lot of responsibility to be handed to us.
I now have a much better understanding of how a business and the corporate world works. Everyday you are challenged and learn something new that will help you at university and in any future career you have.
The Company
We have to work collaboratively with one another a lot and the open office layout helps us to do that.
Very well organised. email responses were quick and easy.
Bosch runs a BUILD programme for all interns which covers things like time management and effective communication.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
I know of people who are working for Bosch now that started off as interns so there are some opportunities.
The Culture
There are a lot of interns working at Bosch so the social side is great.
I worked on the outside of London so the cost of living was not as expensive as central London, but not cheap. House shares with other interns can keep the cost of rent down though.
Although it is near Brunel university there aren't a lot of places to go. It is better to go into central London for a night out.
They run some activities outside of work like badminton but not many. People often organise meals etc. with their team.
