About You
I really enjoyed this insight day. I feel it allowed me to learn a great deal about investment management in terms of portfolio management. The talks were extremely interesting where one speaker shared her career path with us, and one who lectured us on the ethics of investment management regarding social, environment and governmental issues. The investment management game was enjoyable, and allowed us a simulation into what the profession entails. We worked in teams of ~10 with a portfolio of companies to choose from, with 'news' updates arriving each round to let us know the changes being made to a company and how it could impact portfolio changes. There was an overall winning group based on who performed best against the benchmark. The networking was really great where you had the chance to meet investment managers who were friendly and shared what they enjoy most about the job. We then got to meet with recent graduates and the HR team who shared with us their journey and tips for the application process.
I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and felt valued throughout the insight day.
They could have been a bit more prompt with regards to letting us know the schedule, but nonetheless the day was very well organized apart from that.
Allowed me a great insight into the profession.
The Company
Extremely well organized apart from the point listed above.
I found it enjoyable to meet with like minded students to learn more about the profession. Staff were friendly and happy to share with us what they enjoy about the profession. The investment management simulation game created a great sense of friendly competition amongst ourselves.
Knowledgeable staff were invited to the insight day to network with us and answer our questions. Speakers were also really informative and interesting to listen to.
Investment simulation game allowed us a look into the profession, and the networking event allowed us to speak to staff to improve our picture of the profession
A fair deal, this was touched on more in the graduate Q&A session
Allowed me a great insight into investment management and M&G's global operations.
Everything Else
N/A
Plenty during networking lunch and the Q&A sessions with graduates and the recruitment team.
Great, lunch was provided for us with sandwiches, fruit, crisps where we could speak to a variety of employers on the M&G team. This opportunity was also available during the several tea and coffee breaks in the day.
This wasn't really touched on sadly albeit a bit in one speakers lecture, it would have been nice to hear a bit more.
Yes I would, it was really informative and I gained an insight into investment management.
