The Role
I enjoyed my placement at Hewlett Packard Enterprise as it helped to broaden my skills set and provide me with a vast range of opportunities, I was supported by all my colleagues and felt valued.
I felt valued by my colleagues and manager who supported me every step of the way
I was given support from my manager and had meetings with him on a monthly basis and this helped me to build my own independence and learn the importance of networking
This depended on whether I was on the bench or on a project but I was generally busy on a day to day basis
I was given the same amount of responsibility as a normal employee e.g. submitting travel expenses, professionalism and more.
My placement helped me to learn new skills and I gained my own independence which will definitely help me post graduation. I was able to apply the theory from University to real life projects and this in turn helped to increase my understanding and knowledge.
The Company
Atmosphere depended on the office I was in but generally lively and friendly
My placement was overall organised very well by my University and HPE, I was supported through my personal development plan and mentors.
The company invested time and effort into my development as I attended DevOps and ITIL workshops whilst on my placement.
