The Role
The internship was great on many aspects- there were plenty of socials organised for us, everyone was very friendly and ready to help.
My colleagues at EY would try and get me involved in the tasks they were doing, taking their time to explaining different concepts and cases, allowed me to shadow meetings and conference calls.
There was an extensive support network on hand throughout my internship- the graduate recruitment team, I had a buddy assigned to me, an intern manager and counsellor.
There could have been more work, but I do not think this is the fault of EY but rather the timing of accountancy work around tax deadlines and because staff are normally off during the summer
The right amount of responsibility was given to me without making me feel anxious about the work, my work would always be explained to clearly to me at the beginning and then reviewed at the end.
The internship improved my social skills, having to interact without a range of working professionals and also time management skills which is crucial for everyday tasks.
The Company
Everyone was friendly and sociable,
Everything was very well planned out, accommodation was provided for us for our induction week and for our final social which was very thoughtful.
All staff, not just the graduate recruitment team took the time to make sure I knew how I was doing, my strengths and how I could improve. Senior staff were never too busy to help out either.

Company Parties/Events
I have accepted a full time job with EY at the end because of the great atmosphere of the work place and the prospects too.
The Culture
The social scene was brilliant, EY laid on several socials during the induction week, throughout the placement and a ball at the end.
Working in London was expensive, but this is unavoidable.
London has a wide range of night time activities to suit everyone!
As an intern, the choice of activities were limited, but as a full time employee EY have numerous opportunities such as sports and volunteering work.
