The Role
The beginning of my placement was very unorganised due to the department moving site
Most members of the department made an effort to learn names quickly
My questions were always answered well
Some days I had little to do due to dependence on other departments providing samples
I enjoyed being trusted to work alone
Both practical skills in the lab but also social skills working with other people
The Company
Friendly and fun atmosphere but work always got done first
overall good but poor at the beginning due to movement of department
meetings with senior management were not as regular as other employees
Subsidised Canteen
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Above 25 days holiday
I want to work within the company eventually but possibly not in the department where I did my placement
The Culture
Placement students regularly met up outside of wrok
Not as cheap as university but that was expected
Stevenage was not good but luckily only 20 minutes into london
I made the effort to find a local hockey team and running club
