The Role
No doubt one of the best experiences of my life so far!! Doing a placement at Lidl was extremely rewarding and insightful.
Managers and colleagues were always supportive and championed me throughout the scheme. In every module I completed, my opinions always felt like they mattered and contributed to the situation.
The guidance throughout my placement was fantastic. I loved the structured yet flexible training plan, I always knew who was there to support me.
Very! The nature of efficient retail is that you are always busy no matter what department you enter. It was a challenge but I loved every minute.
A lot!!! Accountability and responsibility play an important role in your placement. I was trusted to self-manage projects, train fellow staff members, present to senior management and be in charge of the daily working of a Lidl store.
I definitely learnt through doing a placement that there are so many productive hours in the day!! I believe working in a hard-working environment aided me in my work ethic in my final year of studies!
The Company
Always hard working. Efficient working was key something that lies in the culture of the company. All departments vary but I felt comfortable in all.
A training plan and guided folder was available, as well as weekly updates with our manager at Head office. Overall extremely well planned and executed placement.
I was able to develop skills that I felt needed improving. I was able to book onto relevant training workshops throughout my placement.

I have secured a role on Lidl's International Management scheme, and very excited for my future ahead with the company.
The Culture
Yes, all placement students got on extremely well, we had regular meet ups organised by Lidl where we could share our experiences.
Relatively cheap.
Was great, I lived in a city so had everything around me
Yes plenty!
