The Role
Overall I enjoyed my placement year.
The majority valued the work I did and included me as part of the team.
My supervisor was extremely supportive.
I was not very busy to begin with but once I was able to plan my own time and became independent I was a lot busier.
My work contributed to important work and I was responsible for writing reports and giving presentations.
I gained many transferable skills from my placement.
The Company
I work in a hot-desk office which was very big, people kept quite quiet in order to not disturb others.
I most valued visiting the site with all the other placement students before the placement started, as I got to meet other students and work colleagues before.
Lots of training was available on an e-learning system.
Flexi Time
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Above 25 days holiday
There are not any graduate opportunities within R&D currently
The Culture
There were lots of other students and many people were very sociable.
Rent was not too expensive, and there were cheaper nights to go out
Plenty of pubs but the clubs were not great!
There were sports facilities in the town.
