The Role
I really enjoyed it! CRUK is a very exciting place to work, and there are always so many fundraising events going on.
I was treated as a full time staff member, and given real responsibility in the first week. An no point did I feel undervalued because I was an intern.
I had weekly catch ups with my managers, as well as weekly team meetings, which were great opportunities for me to give/receive feedback and ask questions relating to my projects. The rest of my team were also very approachable and friendly, and were happy to give support at any time.
I started with small tasks, and occasionally found myself with empty time, but this was useful time for doing more research on CRUK. Towards the end of the internship I definitely felt busier and had more projects to do at one time.
I was in charge of projects that I knew would have an impact on CRUK's work, and it was great to work on copy and images that I knew were being sent out to hundreds of people via email on social media.
This role has given me a great insight into working at a charity, so I definitely feel better prepared for any applications I do. The personal development workshops on CV writing and presentations were also extremely useful for job applications!
The Company
Really fun! It was never completely silent, and there were always people walking around or chatting in the kitchen which I enjoyed,
Extremely well organised, from start to finish, Interns are given real responsibility and independence, but also support and guidance!
There were workshops set up for us to help improve our applications, and there was so much time set aside for our personal development, which I appreciated,
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen

Working from home
Very appealing, and I hope to get a job there in the future!
The Culture
Yes, we got to know each other well and always ate together.
n/a as I didn't live in London, but drinks are expensive!
n/a
Yes! It being a charity, there were many fundraising nights e.g boxing. Interns also have to run their own fundraising events which included netball, pub quiz and bake sales, so there are many opportunities to get involved!
