The Role
Challenging, refreshingly different from undergraduate type work
Very friendly, always helpful, happy to help
Some hickups, however more than one person 'looking after me' so there was always someone there
Like all work, there are ups and downs. However there are always people who are happy to help you come up with your next steps.
Enough to feel valued but not soo much that I was under to much pressure
My undergraduate degree course involves a year in industry, it has really helped develop my understanding about the differences between university life and working life. It has given me the opportunity to develop skills that I will use for the rest of my life
The Company
Very friendly, always someone there with you. Fairly relaxed atmosphere in the labs
The demands of the company evolve as time goes on, however the project I was given was something needed and valuable to the company. There was enough guidlines so I didnt feel lost but enough freedom to allow me to fine tune the project.
Alot, aside from the necessary training to do with health and saftey, any training I needed both practical and theoretic it was avalible to me
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
As I have to go back to university and finish my final year I cant get a permenant placement yet, however working here again would definitly be an option for me
The Culture
Fantastic social arrangments, there are lots of placment students here and being so close to Liverpool city centre fun is never far away.
Depends on where you live, like all areas there are costly places and cheap places, however the staff shop did help cut down the bills
Liverpool was just around the corner
I have lived in the area for a while and take advantage of all the opportunities I can
