The Role
I was supported throughout my placement. Given lots of different tasks in a number of areas which helped me to get a lot of experience.
Achievements were recognised, Everyone was friendly, felt part of the team from day one.
Whenever I needed it I got it. Also was pushed outside my comfort zone in order to develop and become a more independent worker.
Was in stages. Could be really busy at one time then not have too much to do. But it balanced out.
I was left to get on with tasks on my own, given guidance if and when I needed/asked for it.
The Company
Everyone was friendly and made you feel welcome.
Majority of it was well thought out.
They took a lot of time and effort to train me in the software package they use. Everyone was patient when training me in the different disciplines, if I didn't know about something all I had to do was ask!

It's a very good company to work for. They are very development focused and want you to improve and get better. They will put the time and effort in to help you reach your personal goals, as well as those that will benefit the company.
The Culture
All the placement students that were known about all went out together. People in the office were pretty sociable if anyone actively encouraged them to come to the pub. Only issue was initially finding out about the other placement students working at the company.
Cost of living was pretty low, it's been a bit of a shock coming back to university.
Liverpool was only a 20 minute train ride away, plenty of bars, pubs and clubs. Also plenty of sober activities to do.
The younger crowd in the office were pretty good at getting together for days out.
