The Role
It was very enjoyable, I expanded my network and learnt what it would be like to work in the audit profession when I leave university. I was given my own responsibilities and to an extent had some power over the way I did my work. I was given a presentation that I had to present to high level management and partners which increased my skills.
Everyone was down to earth and helpful
I was given a buddy as well as a counsellor
I was reasonably busy to say it was a quiet period for the business. I sometimes however, found myself asking around for work but this was alright because it increased my network. I was given a few clients to work with as well.
I felt that I had a reasonable level of responsibility for the position I worked as. I was given support when needed.
I study accounting and finance so it was related
The Company
Everybody worked hard and were willing to socialise out of work hours and during the dinner break. Everyone was helpful.
It was relatively organised. However, I did have some down time which I had to use my initiative to think of things to do.
They gave me a lot of basic training and have offerred my a graduate position in which they will provide further training and put me through my professional exams.
Company Parties/Events
They are very high - you can take it as far as you are prepared to do so.
The Culture
I went on several socials throughout my placement such as CSR days, bowling, drinks etc
I lived at home so I did not have to pay additional costs. The cost of socialising wasn't that expenses either as EY paid for the socials and several drinks & food.
Great!
