The Role
It was a brilliant experience and an insight into what a career with EY would be like
Everyone I met from intern to partner was very friendly, welcoming and approachable.
If I had a problem with anything a member of the team was always there to help. Lots of different people took time out to talk points through with me and explain different aspects of the work,
The workload varied depending on which tax department I was in, sometimes there was a lot of downtime
I was given work to do that went out to clients and helped out on client sites, so I felt my work wasn't pointless and could see how I was helping.
I now feel I have much better people skills, and feel I am more professional.
The Company
Everyone was extremely friendly, we all went out for drinks a few times and even went to Thorpe Park.
We were given a project to work on over the internship that filled downtime. The induction was useful.
We regularly went to training and technical sessions
Company Parties/Events
I look forward to going back next year
The Culture
Everyone went out for drinks once a week, interns and colleagues
Reading is an expensive area
A few bars and small clubs
I was asked if I wanted to take part in a rounders tournament, a friend took part in cricket matches against other firms.
