The Role
My placement was a fantastic experience opportunity and I truly enjoyed it!
Most of my colleagues welcomed me into my role with open arms and were very helpful and supportive throughout the year. I always felt like I was part of the team.
My manager was supportive and guided me throughout most of my placement. However, other team members were also very supportive too. My manage also encouraged me to do, take part and attend different courses and meetings to benefit my overall experience.
I am a pro-active individual and I am always striving for tasks and duties to complete. I was always kept busy which benefited my experience as I never felt bored and felt as if I had nothing to do. If I wasn't working on tasks set by my manager, I was supporting another colleague with their work.
As I trained and developed further knowledge and understanding processes and procedures, my responsibility with task increased. Towards the end of my placement, I was providing feedback on tasks I had completed as an individual using my own initiative.
My placement has enhanced my experience and understanding on many skills that can be transfered into my final year degree studies and beyond into working life. The verbal, communication, written, listening, presenting and many more skills I have developed over the year will stay with me for life.
The Company
The atmosphere in general was friendly and hard-working. During special celebrations (i.e christmas) the office atmosphere would be fun and lively. When it was busy, everyone would work hard and work together to ensure work was completed correctly and accordingly to policies and procedures. It was definitely not boring at all.
My placement training was set up and planned very well. Training at the start was very supportive but also independent too.
The company invests alot of time and money in training the placement students. They also allow students to go on different training courses, meetings and trips to visit other sites. I was treated as any other permanent employee would be treated.

Hopefully I have made my mark and set a good impression with the company. I hope I will have the opportunity to work for them in the future.
The Culture
Yes definitely. Amongst the students we were all very close and became very good friends! A few of us even enjoyed a cheeky holiday together!
It's expensive in any part of London!
We were based near Heathrow, so the nightlife scene was minimal around this area. However, it wasn't too far to get a train and have a night out in central london.
Not so much, other than events/meetings being held about the company.
