About You
To get the opportunity to hear senior lawyers talk about their experiences was very inspirational. I have also got a better idea on the type of work DLA Piper do and the life at the firm.
I felt very valued in the 3 days I spent here. The smile on everyone's faces were very welcoming. The amount of food I was fed surely made it feel like home.
I received a lot of guidance from the staff and my fellow students. Every question or confusion I had was quickly cleared up by the staff and this made the experience much more beneficial.
The skills of teamwork, communication and problem solving are qualities in which I will be able to apply to all my studies and career opportunities.
The Company
Very good. There was not a moment when I felt bored. The set up ensured that there was sufficient breaks/food to keep us going throughout the day.
In some morning it can be a little bit tedious, however it's not long until there is an activity or talk which took my attention. The friendliness of the workers ensured the atmosphere was continuously positive.
By getting some of the most senior partners to come speak to us was an indication of how valued we were.
There was different partners from different sectors which gave us a variety of issues deals into those different areas. By speaking to some graduates, we were also able to gain first hand what it's like to work in such a firm.
DLA insists on their culture and by speaking tot he associates I understood what they value most. This includes things such as diversity and high standards.
I have always been interested in DLA but after this programme, it has increased my interest in the commercial sector of DLA piper
